Image by Getty Images via DaylifeAfter a long battle with cancer, AMAZING actor Paul Newman has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 83, a spokesperson has confirmed.

You may remember Newman as the anti-hero "Luke" in the film COOL HAND LUKE. Other very memorable performances include "Fast Eddie Felson" in THE COLOR OF MONEY, "Henry Gondorff" in THE STING, and "Butch Cassidy" in BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID.

Newman died Friday after a long battle with cancer at his farmhouse near Westport, publicist Jeff Sanderson said. He was surrounded by his family and close friends.
