The Reality of Superman

Image via WikipediaSo tonight my plans changed. I went from going to a friend's house for a cookout, to enjoying a Superman Movie Marathon here at the house. I watched Superman II, followed by Superman Returns. Completely negating Superman III and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (which should have been The Quest for a Better Plot, but I digress).

A few questions came up that I would like to address now, that I encountered while watching Superman Returns.

First: In Superman II and Returns, there is quite a bit of collateral damage. Who is going to pay for that? The city? Does this mean that the tax papers will have to reach further into their pockets because someone who doesn't have control over their super-strength decided to knock a hole in the Daily Planet?

Second: In Superman Returns, you find out that the Last Son of Krypton (SPOILER AHEAD) has a 5 year old son with Miss Lois Lane. My question is this - Where does Superman think he is going to come up with the money for 5 years of back child support?

I guess these are just a few things I wanted to know. I'm off to watch the end of Chappelle, enjoy some generic cola and then off to bed.
