Fuck Disney. Now, I mean that in the best possible way. I’m sure when you are younger seeing Mickey and Goofy in real life was a treat, but once you realize that women are the real fun part of life, they just don’t add up.

That brings me to the REAL “Happiest Place on Earth”. That place is The Bunny Ranch. Nestled snuggly in the hills of Carson City, Nevada. My face was nestled snuggly in some boobs the weekend of April 20-22 back in 2001.

You see, I won a contest. The heres and theres of the contest really aren’t that big a deal. The big deal is that I won a free round trip, all expenses paid trip to the World Famous Bunny Ranch. Now when I say all expenses paid, I mean ALL expenses paid. I was 21 years old and yes, still a virgin. That was all about to change.

I won’t bore you with the travel follies because that is just a lot of waiting and boring bullshit. The story really begins when we got to the Ranch. We were staying AT the Ranch that weekend in some trailers that I was told were going to be renovated into a workout area for the girls after we left. We, being a friend of mine and the DJ, got there just in time to put our bags in our respective sleeping areas and get a tour of the joint. FANTASTIC is the only way to describe this place.

At that point we set up for the live broadcast. It was from Carson City to Milwaukee. Amazing the way the ol’ radio waves work now. Anyway..

There was the typical radio babble until Bridget the Midget came out of one of the specialty rooms after shooting a scene from her upcoming movie. Oh, did I mention she was half in the bag? I can only assume it only took half the alcohol to get her drunk. Get it? Okay, bad jokes aside, the line up came into the back kitchen area and I picked a real cute girl. Very girl next door looking, something I really have a thing for.

So we went into her room and I noticed that she had a stack of books there, she said she was a student and of course I believed her. Would you call the woman who was going to ride you like a mechanical bull a liar? I think not. So we sat on her bed and discussed what was going to happen. We agreed and then I started to get undressed. By the time I had one shoe off she was naked and kind of looking at me like I was taking too long.

So once we were both in the buff, things began to get fun. I will spare you the would be gorey details, and say that it went from her on her knees to her enjoying a ride on the Ron Train.

45 minutes later - no, I am not stretching the truth - I went on the air and expressed how AMAZING it was. I was officially ruined for women back home. The rest of the night was truly a blur. We got drunk, smoked cigars and just had the kind of fun that you can imagine Bernie Madoff’s cell mate is having with him right now.

The next day we started drinking early and then decided to get the real partying going later that night. I got to have to have TWO women this night, but there was a price. I had to play a game called, “How Long Can He Last”.

While I was going at it with TWO women. I can’t emphasis that enough. TWO women, my friend and the DJ were in the bathroom saying things to kill my buzz, so to speak. The same thing would happen to my friend later in the evening, but this is about me and MY exploits.

Things were going FANTASTIC and I was able to keep from falling to pieces until one of them said, “Pretend it’s your Mom”. That pretty much would keep Ron Jeremy from performing.

I came back to Racine a conquering hero. Everyone wanted to hear of my exploits, whether they would admit it or not. Hell, even women enjoyed it! There was one woman in particular that before wouldn’t give me the time of day, but when I came back from the Ranch was all over me. She ended up with a guy who had 13 kids and gave her the clap.

That’s a different story, for a different time.

KICK ASS. A Roncomedy Review

First and foremost I have to say that I LOVED this comic. It really took what every comic book fan goes though at one point. What would it be like to be a real life superhero? The comic is gritty and down to earth and doesn't end with everything going right for our hero.

The film took the exact opposite approach.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the movie, and it really tried to at least keep the feel of the book. A lot of the key moments from the book were changed around and sped up for the film but I understand that has to be done in Hollywood. That is until the last act of the film. Then it kind of takes that odd twist into a traditional superhero film. Something that it has no business being.

Performance wise I really enjoyed the film and think that everyone did a great job in their portrayals of their respective characters. That being said, there were some stand outs that I would really like to address.

Chloe Grace Moretz as Mindy McCready/Hit Girl was just amazing. Every scene that she was in really became hers. She totally brought the character of Hit Girl right from the pages of the book.

I am not really a Nicolas Cage fan in the slightest. With the exceptions of Face/Off and Leaving Las Vegas I feel that he really gives the same performance in every role that he is in. Then I saw him in KICK ASS. His portrayal of Damon McCready/Big Daddy was both intense and comical at the same time. It was great to see Cage in a role like this.

Now I won't spend time on the small things that they had to change because it's a movie. I understand that is going to happen. I have come to accept that. However there are a few things that bother me.

They are really going all out to promote this film as "ultra violent" but one particular death scene (and if you know the comic you know the one I am talking about) was changed and it really felt like a puss out. Also, there was a certain connection between two characters that should have NEVER happened.

Stick with me kids, I'm TRYING to stay spoiler free.

My biggest complaint is a certain part near the end with a certain machine that took me completely out of the film.

If you haven't read the comic and you are looking for a good time this is your picture. Its got comedy, violence and heroics. If you are a fan of the comic book, and you are looking for something that resembles the source material that we waited so long for, you might be let down

So since the Vinyl & Villains site is basically a show page, this one is kind of pushed to the way side. I wish it wasn't but it is.

So now this is more of a personal blog. Like livejournal was to me for a long time. So this is where it begins.

Lately I have been trying to get into more music that I haven't heard before. I'd like to thank Pandora for allowing me that pleasure. I've also been rocking a pretty hardcore pain in my back. I think it's a pinched nerve but I can't be too sure. I also can't get to a doctor because well, thats expensive. So I'm just laying down as much as I can, hoping to ease the pain with some over the counter pain meds.

I'm also frantically trying to find ways to get Vinyl & Villains noticed. I think I have a great concept here, its just trying to get the word out that is a pain and a half.

Well back to facebook, maybe there is something there I haven't done yet.

Now, I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.

Men, all this stuff you've heard about me not wanting to fight, wanting to stay out of the war for good entertainment, is a lot of horse dung. I, traditionally, love to fight. I love the sting of battle.

When you were kids, you all admired the champion marble shooter, the fastest runner, the big league ball players, the toughest boxers. You guys love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. You play to win all the time. Now, I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That's why I have never lost and will never lose a war for good entertainment. Because the very thought of losing is hateful to me.

Now, an army is a team. It lives, eats, sleeps, fights as a team. This individuality stuff is a bunch of crap. The bilious bastards who wrote that stuff about individuality for TMZ don't know anything more about real battle than they do about fornicating.

Now, we have the finest food and equipment, the best spirit, and the best men and women in the world. You know, by God, I actually pity those poor bastards we're going up against. By God, I do. We're not just going to shoot the bastards. We're going to cut out their living guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy spamming bastards by the bushel.

Now, some of you boys and girls, I know, are wondering whether or not you'll chicken-out under fire. Don't worry about it. I can assure you that you will all do your duty. The hacks are the enemy. Wade into them. Spill their blood. Shoot them in the belly. When you put your hand into a bunch of goo that a moment before was your best friend's face, you'll know what to do.

Now there's another thing I want you to remember. I don't want to get any messages saying that we are holding our position. We're not holding anything. Let the Stickam crowd do that. We are advancing constantly and we're not interested in holding onto anything -- except the enemy. We're going to hold onto him by the nose, and we're gonna kick him in the ass. We're gonna kick the hell out of him all the time, and we're gonna go through him like crap through a goose!

Now, there's one thing that you men and women will be able to say when you get back home, and you may thank God for it. Thirty years from now when you're sitting around your fireside with your grandson on your knee, and he asks you, "What did you do in the great War for Good Entertainment?" -- you won't have to say, "Well, I shoveled shit in Louisiana."

Alright now you sons-of-bitches, you know how I feel.

Anniversary Post #2.

This post is my interview that I did with Jay Bentley, bass player from the band Bad Religion.

Ron Purtee : Do you think that things are better now with Brett (Gurewitz, one of the bands founders and principle songwriters) back in the band?

Jay Bentley: When he left it was for the better, even though it hurt us in the long run songwriting wise, we were fighting a lot in 94, there was a lot of problems. Him coming back now, everybody’s happy, and he is back writing again, and it puts a good balance in the band, where its not just one direction and it seems to work out a lot better now.

RP: Do you think that with albums like “No Substance” and “The New America” things were starting to lack songwriting wise?

JB: Those were shit records. With “The Grey Race” you had Brian (Baker) coming and writing a lot of music, and that record was a very passionate record lyrically for Greg (Graffin), it was a real personal time for him, and it really helped him on the record the way he was presenting his lyrics. With “No Substance” and “New America” it was like no reason, we were pretty passionless.

RP: Do you think that Brian is taking a backseat in the band now that Brett is back when it comes to songwriting?

JB: No because Brian wrote maybe 40- 50% of the music on “The Grey Race” but he and Greg had a lot of disagreements about what Brian wanted to do musically, and Brian just said, “Fuck it, I’ll never write another song” and it was over. So Brian now writes songs for Dag Nasty, which will come out this year.

RP: Rumor has it that Bad Religion is only putting out one more album, do you guys have a lot left in you?

JB: Sure why not? This band has never had any type of long-term goal, ever. So when I say, “Yeah we might make another record” people take it literally like “Oh my god they’re breaking up”. Its like who knows what the fuck we’re doing. If we make some kind of bizarre business plan, then we’re assholes. If your not making music because your passionate about it then you should just sit in the corner and be some other band with management and everyone else who is telling you what to say.

RP: Of the B-sides you have, which one would you have like to seen on an album but never made it?

JB: “News from the Front” It’s a great song; it just didn’t make it on the record because of time. We were deciding what songs we were gonna put on there, and Brett really wanted to put “Digital Boy” on there. I was like “We already have a version of that on another record, lets go with “News from the Front” it’s a great song.” then Brett said something that you can’t really argue with, “Well I wrote both of them”, and I can’t argue with that, its your song.

RP: Did all of the fighting with Brett start during the recording of “Stranger than Fiction”?

JB: Yeah, kinda, there were just so many things that were happening. You have to remember, Brett wasn’t just a guitar player in Bad Religion, or a partner or a songwriter, he also owned the record label we were on, and there were so many things going on for all of us, and I worked at Epitaph, it was me and Brett and like 5 people who worked at Epitaph, and so there was stresses all over the place, its unbelievable that were all still here. I couldn’t begin to explain to you how awkward that time was.

RP: Many think that the switch to Atlantic was the cause of Brett leaving, because in press afterwards he would use the “sell out” term quite often, do you think that’s the case?

JB: No. His name was right above mine on the contract, so if he didn’t want to go he wouldn’t have signed it. He knows that. He says “Look, I just used it as a way to get out”. It’s no different then when you break up with a girlfriend and you say, “oh she’s a bitch”, she may not be one but you guys just didn’t get along, so you attack her. All of that shit was just talk. It didn’t have anything to do with Atlantic. Going to Atlantic at the time was good, but only because of Danny Goldberg and he only lasted 6 months there and he was gone and we were just dead in the water.

RP: Did it take a lot to come back to Epitaph?

JB: It took 2 phone calls and me meeting with Andy and Dave. Once our deal with Atlantic was up, I was like “Let’s call up Fat Mike, I’ll go on Fat Wreckords, he knows more to do with us than any other label other than Epitaph. It seemed like there was a little bit of apprehension about going back to Epitaph from certain members of the band, but me even having worked there and having been involved in that, at least I was smart enough to know that they knew how to work with us better than any other label on the planet. I kept saying “Even if we hate each other there is no way we are gonna be worse off than we were on Atlantic.” By the time we left there everybody hated us. We have a habit of making people hate us. That works for me, that’s why were punks right?

RP: One last question. Rumor has it that whenever you find a copy of “Into the Unknown” you buy it and put it in storage, how many do you really have in storage?

JB: (laughs) I had about 150.

RP: How many did it press?

JB: 10,000. Brett and I burned a shitload of them one time. We just dumped gas on them and burned them. That was 3 or 4 boxes, that would have been 300-400. Last time I went looking for them they were all water damaged because my mom’s water heater exploded.

Ron Purtee: When you were growing up, what kind of music inspired you?

Thursday: We were all hardcore kids. You know like Hot Water Music, Ink and Dagger, earlier stuff too like the Who, mainly hardcore bands.

RP: Would you say that’s still the case today?

Thursday: Oh yeah, definitely. The style has changed with the new bands, not that Death by Stereo is a new, but they are one of those crazy bands that are influential. Definitely Alkaline Trio, and still Hot Water Music, to see them everyday is awesome.

RP: How did you guys come together and form Thursday?

Thursday: Well, Tom and I were best friends in high school. We went off to college, I went to a community college and he went to Rutgers, he met Geoff at an Ink and Dagger show, Geoff was like “Yeah, I’m looking to start a band, do you know anybody?” and Tom said “Yeah, me and this drummer, my best friend have been playing for years” So Tom went to art class with Tim. So it’s all like one circle.

RP: What is like to make a video?

Thursday: Weird. I mean, luckily enough for our first video, Steve actually did it because he is a film student, actually graduated from film school, and that wasn’t too bad because it was hands on for us, it was a live show, everything we’re about. When we were doing the video with Darrin, it was a cool experience, like he wrote us a treatment and then we changed it all around to the way we wanted it to be, and then we collaborated on some stuff. Making videos in general is just a weird thing.

RP: What is the point to the video for “Cross out the Eyes”?

Thursday: It’s basically about identity. It kinda follows the song but it also based on a movie called “City of Lost Children”. Basically identity, like when the guys skin gets burned off, peels it back and its new skin and that’s basically it, it’s a hard video to get you have to watch it a few times. We’re a dark band I like to think ya know, the video is sorta dark, my mom hates it.

RP: On your website you have a statement about Victory Records, can you elaborate on it at all?

Thursday: I’m really not allowed to talk about that, but it was something we wrote, that we totally believe in. We are about the music, we don’t want to get involved in this corporate stuff, and we just wanted people to know the truth. We’re not tryin to slam anybody or demean anybody, I mean Victory is obviously a great label, they have been doing great things for many years, but a lot of people get the wool pulled over their eyes, we just wanted to state our case.

RP: Do you owe Victory any more albums?

Thursday: We actually owe them 2 more albums but we are going to exercise our buy out clause.

RP: What kind of plans do you have after Warped Tour?

Thursday: We are gonna go and play the Redding and Leeds festival over in Europe, its gonna be 4 days we are over there, then we are gonna fly back and have 2 ½ or 3 weeks off, then we’re gonna do a tour called Plea for Peace, a benefit for a suicide hotline.

RP: When do you guys see the new album coming out?

Thursday: Earliest would be summer of next year, we like get it out as early as possible, so we can have new things to play.

RP: What influences the songwriting process for you guys musically?

Thursday: It varies a lot, we have a common ground of hardcore, but from there it goes everywhere, so there are so many bands to ink and dagger, quicksand, desaparecidos, a lot of new bands too, like Godspeed you black emperor, mogwai, sigur rios.

RP: Did you guys have a lot of offers from major labels?

Thursday: Not necessarily offers, but dinners. The way it goes when you’re being “courted” as the industry calls it, you take every meeting that you can, even if you have your mind made up, your mind set. Just be cool, meet people and eat free food.

RP: What attracted you guys most to Island?

Thursday: They were there way before all this MTV crap; they were there before all that. They were at shows when there were 10-15 kids at the shows, and 5-10 of the 15 kids being them. It was never “Oh we have you to have you guys we have to sign you” it was more “We really enjoyed the show and like the band”. They just seemed very real. We liked Island a lot because they don’t want to change their artists. They let them be what they wanna be, like PJ Harvey, they aren’t making her be something that she doesn’t wanna be. Like with artists like Elvis Costello, U2, and Quicksand.

RP: Once you guys get into the studio, how long does it take to record an album?

Thursday: About a month.

RP: What kind of long-term goals do you guys have now?

Thursday: Just being able to play in front of people, any time I get a chance to get behind my drums and have somebody watch, is a good day. So basically to keep this going as long as we can. I don’t care if it gets bigger, I don’t care if it gets smaller.

Special Anniversary Announcement

So 15 years ago, I started a small magazine called Advantage to No One. It was pretty popular in the local music scene until it ended due to funding being an issue. (I was 16 when it ended. It's not like I'm loaded.)

So then the magazine made it's way to the web and was flourishing for a bit until there were some hosting issues with the site.

So this being the 15th anniversary of Advantage to No One, I will be posting articles from the old site and such this week. So please stay tuned for that starting later today.

I just want to thank everyone for their continued support in everything that I do.

So today here in Racine, Wisconsin is voting day. We are trying to elect a new mayor after our former mayor, the less than honorable Gary Becker got caught with his hard drive exposed...give it a minute, you'll laugh.

Anyway, when stepping to the polls today I was kind of torn. Dickert or Turner. Or maybe writing in Harding. Well, first off, I'm not going to write in Harding. You don't live in a city as long as she has and then decide to run for mayor. Sorry, you just don't understand the city.

So Dickert or Turner. I feel in this election like a lot of people felt during the Presidential election between now President Obama and Sen. John McCain. You couldn't get behind either one of them. That's how I felt today.

I can completely understand why the voting turn out has been less than stellar for this particular election.

I will leave you with a quote from the late great George Carlin.

"I don't vote. On Election Day, I stay home. I firmly believe that if you vote, you have no right to complain. Now, some people like to twist that around. They say, "If you don't vote, you have no right to complain", but where's the logic in that? If you vote, and you elect dishonest, incompetent politicians, and they get into office and screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You voted them in. You caused the problem. You have no right to complain.

I, on the other hand, who did not vote -- who did not even leave the house on Election Day -- am in no way responsible for that these politicians have done and have every right to complain about the mess that you created."

Life Has No Delete Button

So I am sitting in the living room watching the begining of Zombie Town on Chiller (a cheap substitute for FEARnet) trying to think of ways to spend the last hour of my 30th birthday. Today has been a less than stellar celebration of the anniversary of my birth to say the least.

Running around, paying bills, buying groceries. It's every man's dream come true.

So once all of that tomfoolery was completed, I thought I'd get to relax, but then I got a rather nasty stomach bug and well let's just say for the sake of mixed company I shall spare you the details. Things seem to have subsided, so all will be well for tomorrow's activities. Pancake Day, Free Comic Book Day, then out for the night with some old friends, and some new ones that I never knew I had from high school. (I know you are reading this, keep your foot out of your mouth. Or at least wash it first.)

A "What Does All Mean?" Moment

So usually I try to reserve my blogs for the Twitter, because I don't usually have more to say than 140 characters, but this time I have something to get off of my chest. Who knows, maybe it will catch on and I might start blogging here, on an actual site.

Depending on what time you read this, I will be 30 years old. Now I know that people will be saying "Hey fatass, 30 is the new 20, get over it" or "You are only as old as you feel" or "Put down that sandwich and get on a tredmill". Okay, that last one really had nothing to do with it, but you get the point.

What's really bothering me isn't the number, its the time. When I look back and think about what I was thinking about 10 or 15 years ago about where I'd be now, things didn't work out. I feel like I have spent all this time on the planet and accomplished nothing. I've had radio shows, and interviewed bigger named celebrities, but it just doesn't seem to feel like an accomplishment.

I'm sure this too shall pass, it's just something that I wanted to get off my chest. Now, where is that sandwich?

I hate to blog here under these pretenses but it must be done. RONCAST! Productions is in what you could call a dire straight. Not so dire that we are going to die without this, but this is something that we desperately need to continue any work.

You will notice the CHIP IN widget on the side. IGNORE the $600. We are looking to collect between $70 and $80 for some production fees that we didn't realize needed taking care of, until after our budget well, went bye-bye.

Downey Jr and Favreau Sign On For Iron Man 2, The Avengers!

Image by Getty Images via DaylifeAccording to Marvel.com; as part of his four picture deal that he has signed with Marvel Studios, Robert Downey Jr shall be reprising his role as playboy Tony Stark in the Avengers motion picture. He is also slated to reprise the same role in Iron Man 2. Jon Favreau has also signed on to direct Iron Man 2 and executive produce The Avengers.

This is great news to come out of Marvel Studios, after hearing that Terrence Howard isn't going to be returning as Col. James "Rhodey" Rhodes and is being replaced by Don Cheadle.

Cheadle has also signed on for any further installments of Iron Man as well as reprising the role of War Machine in the Avengers film.

Friday the 13th Remake Trailer!

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake was very meh, and the Halloween remake was horrid. If it had been called, "Big Scary Guy Kills People" it would have been a great movie. I guess there is more to a name than meets the eye.

Well, Michael Bay is at it again. This time attempting to tackle the territory of Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th. There are a few things that bother me from what I have heard, and what I have seen in the trailer. Speaking of trailers, here is the trailer for the Friday the 13th remake, due out Friday, February 13, 2009.

Violence Against Obama Campaign Worker in Wisconsin

Image via WikipediaI did not want to be spending my Sunday morning talking about this. I would much rather be talking about how Zero the Polar Bear is still in the moat at the Milwaukee Public Zoo. However I have to talk about this.

An Obama campaign worker was assaulted while canvassing. I will let 58 year old Nancy Takehara speak for herself;

“The next thing I know he’s telling us we’re not his people, we’re probably with ACORN, and he started screaming and raving,” Takehara said. “He grabbed me by the back of the neck. I thought he was going to rip my hair out of my head. He was pounding on my head and screaming. The man terrified me.”

This has got to stop. Robocalls from McCain saying that Obama is connected to former Weatherman and current college professor William Ayers is only increasing the hate speech that the McCain/Palin campaign has already begun at rallies. McCain can repudiate all he wants, but the seeds of hatred have already been planted. This has got to stop.

Takehara did have a shining light at the end of the tunnel however. When she got home, she had a message that Senator Obama had called. She returned the phone call and spoke to the Democratic Presidential Candidate one to one.

“Senator Obama understood… it was wonderful. It made me feel wonderful. It made me feel connected to this government again.”

Keep fighting the good fight. Non-violently of course.

My Own Worst Enemy

Image by Getty Images via DaylifeNBC has a history of putting out some great television shows. From 30 Rock to Heroes. From The Office to My Name is Earl. From Scrubs to Chuck. You get the point.

However this occasion has shown that even the might NBC can miss the target once in awhile. Their new show, "My Own Worst Enemy" with Christian Slater is just that, a miss. The story focuses on the split personalities of Special Agent Edward Albright. Edward needed a cover, so the organization that he was a part of created one. Henry. Henry is a loving husband and father working at a job that takes him on the road quite often, thats when Edward takes over and goes on special missions.

Everything is going fine until Henry "wakes up" during an assassination attempt and things go south. Not just for the character. There is not really any backstory given, and Christian Slater is just not likeable in this show. Then again I didn't find a single character that I could connect with on any level.

The production levels are great, but the acting and the story is a bit contrived.

I am, for lack of a better phrase, a big guy. There is no denying that. No getting around it. (or me for that matter. yes, I got jokes.) So I have decided that I need to start doing something about it before it's too late.

So I am doing a lot of walking, riding a bike and the lot. The real thing that is hitting me hard however is the fact that I am giving up on soda. Now to the average person it's probably not that big a deal. However to me, it is. You see I am what most would call "addicted" to caffine. It's not a pretty sight to say the least, but I am trying. I love irritable and short tempered I am because of it. Makes for me being a lovable oaf.

In other news Blank-Fest WI 2008 is merely 2 months away. Last years was a huge success and we would love those who can to make it out to the 2nd Annual extravaganza. The Vanishing Art, Hail Archer, The Argonauts, Mohr Ave will be performing, as well as the first solo performance by the former lead singer of Shameless Place, Andy Schonert.

The Foo are Fighing Mad at John McCain!

Image via WikipediaOnce again, John McCain is caught with his pants down. No, Obama didn't call him out on a $5000 tax credit that goes to the insurance company. This time it's the Foo Fighters.

Dave Grohl and company have joined a laundry list of musicians the likes of Heart, Van Halen, John Mellencamp and Jackson Browne who have become the victim of Republican Party Presidential Candidate John McCain used their song "My Hero" without permission lately at speeches and rallies. Naturally they aren't very pleased about this.

The Foo Fighters issued a statement today (October 8) that read;

"This isn't the first time the McCain campaign has used a song without making any attempt to get approval or permission from the artist. It's frustrating and infuriating that someone who claims to speak for the American people would repeatedly show such little respect for creativity and intellectual property."

The band added: "The saddest thing about this is that 'My Hero' was written as a celebration of the common man and his extraordinary potential. To have it appropriated without our knowledge and used in a manner that perverts the original sentiment of the lyric just tarnishes the song. We hope that the McCain campaign will do the right thing and stop using our song--and start asking artists' permission in general!"

This post may not be popular with folks, but in my honest opinion, it would seem to me that John McCain has once again misjudged the indomitable spirit of the common man.

Robert Freakin' Kirkman

Recently I have been leaning towards the creator owned area of books in the world. One man in particular is leading the way when it comes to creator owned work, and his name is Robert Kirkman.

I was always into The Walking Dead, but only recently was I awoken to the great book Invincible that Mr Kirkman writes every month.

I Love Ken Foree

Image by Cien de Cine via FlickrNow, before I get into the reasons behind my love of Mr Foree, I should tell those who aren't versed in the Foreeiverse.

In Dawn of the Dead (the original, not that remake) he played Peter Washington, the streetwise SWAT team member who was one of the only survivors of the groups stay at the mall.

In The Devil's Rejects he played the pimp (and I mean that literally) Charlie Altamont.

In the less than stellar Rob Zombie remake of Halloween, he played the ill fated Big Joe Grizzly.

Finally he played Black Santa in Black Santa's Revenge.

This man just exudes bad ass. I don't want to hear the comments, "Samuel L Jackson is the baddest MFer in the known world!" because Ken Foree is the bad ass that people like Sam Jackson want to be.

He has taken on the undead, Leatherface and Michael Meyers. He was Black Freakin' Santa. He is Ken Foree.

That is why I love him.*
